We've loss an advocate & friend of our LGBT community. Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy, the patriarch of the first family of Democratic politics died @ his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. He was 77. "We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family & joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism & perseverance will live on in our hearts forever," a family statement said. "We thank everyone who gave him care & support over this last year, & everyone who stood with him for so many years in his tireless march for progress toward justice." Updates to Come.......

In this exclusive audio excerpt we asked Lee Swislow, Executive Director of the Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders, (GLAD) what she thought about the Supreme Court appointment of Sonia Maria Sotomayor.


In March 2009, GLAD filed a lawsuit in federal court challenging
the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, DOMA that will most likely be headed to the Supreme Court. Hear More...:)
Recently Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government seeking federal marriage benefits for over 16,000 gay & lesbian couples who have legally married in Massachusetts since 2004. Both cases are being heard before the same federal judge. When asked if the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) will go before the Supreme Court Swislow said, “I certainly expect that ultimately this case will wind up in front of the Supreme Court.
