Gay Marriage is a Conservative Issue

(AUDIO) There has been a recent surge of conservatives coming out for gay marriage lately. First the NEWSWEEK cover story “The Conservative Case for Gay Marriage”, by Theodore B. Olson then Cindy and Meghan McCain posing for NOH8 campaign. We asked Arline Isaacson, Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Gay & Lesbian Political Caucus who is one of the architects of gay marriage in this country what she thought about this. Isaacson states, “It’s a very interesting phenomenon and I am thrilled they’re doing it and I’m grateful for that and appreciative that they’re doing it. And another part of me says “ ‘It’s about time’ because we have been arguing for years as have conservative gays like Andrew Sullivan that marriage is a very conservative fight for the gay community to be involved in. I use that argument frequently when lobbying our state legislature on the issue of marriage. I say to them, ‘My God do you realize what a conservative thing the gay community is asking for? We are asking you to allow us to participate in the most conservative institution imaginable’ and the quintessential example of the things that people who exult America believe in. And here it was we were asking to be put into an institution where you love, honor, cherish and obey until death do you part. What could be more conservative than that?”

Wake Up America, The Dems Need a Plan

State Sen. Scott Brown's defeat of Attorney General Martha Coakley in the Senate run for Ted Kennedy’s vacant seat among some of the most blue state voters in the nation could recast elective politics in Massachusetts & the nation. The result of this election threatens to slam the brakes on President Obama's healthcare bill, economic agenda & any chance for LGBT civil rights in this country. Read More
With a large lead just weeks ago in the polls, Coakley loss in a sea of complacency thinking her bid for Senator was a shoe in as out-of-state right wing groups pumped funds into Brown’s camp. With midterm elections coming up in less then a year the Dems should wake up & smell the fascism that could throw this country back to something worse then the Bush Cheney years…..

Martin Luther King & Gay Marriage

“Gay & Lesbian people have families & their families should have legal protections. A constitutional amendment banning gay marriage is a form of gay bashing & will do nothing at all to protect traditional marriage.” ---Mrs. Coretta Scott King

Jack O'Dell, former Southern Christian Leadership Conference activist & aide to Dr. Martin Luther King states "Dr. King would have fully supported Gay Marriage." Coretta Scott King agreed.

Federal Gay Marriage Trial Begins...Video

Exclusive audio interview w/ Gay Activist Suzane Northrop, one of the world’s leading Trance Mediums addresses the Afterlife and our LGBT community @ OUTTAKE VOICES™
Monday in California a federal trial began that challenges the constitutionality of Prop 8. "This could be our Brown vs. Board of Education," said former Clinton White House adviser Richard Socarides, referring to the 1954 Supreme Court decision that outlawed racial segregation in schools & other public facilities. Whatever the decision it will likely be appealed to the Supreme Court. Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger & Democratic Attorney General Jerry Brown are defendants in the lawsuit by virtue of their prominent positions in California but both men opposed the ban & have refused to defend the suit in court.

N.J. Senate Rejects Gay Marriage Bill

Exclusive audio interview with gay political humorist Kate Clinton talks about what she would like to see in 2010 for our LGBT civil rights @OUTTAKE VOICES™

TRENTON -- The state Senate rejected a gay marriage bill Thursday. This is a pathetic victory for opponents who contend that the measure would damage religious freedom. They actually think that since the state already has civil unions which provides about 1/3 of the rights of marriage, this justifies making New Jersey's LGBT community 2nd class citizens. The 14 to 20 vote followed hours of public debate inside the packed Senate chamber. Gov. Jon Corzine supported the measure but Chris Christie, who will replace him in 2 weeks, said he'd veto it.
