GMA Sam Champion Gay & Engaged

Good Morning America is really taking the lead in morning television & now there’s even more reason to catch the broadcast. Sam Champion came out & announced he is engaged to his partner Brazilian born photographer Rubem Robierb. The New York Times broke the story of their engagement Friday in a story about the wedding of MSNBC news anchor Thomas Roberts & Patrick Abner, which Champion attended with his partner Saturday in NYC. Weatherman icon Champion stated, "We're getting married New Year's Eve in Miami.” "We'll do it in New York officially & then have a party in Miami," Robierb added. Champion has never been shy about  his sexuality in a private  but this is the first time he has publicly come out as a proud gay man. Sam & Rubem also shared their excitement after the story broke telling ABC News, "We are thrilled & so excited & thank everyone for their good wishes." Herndon Graddick GLAAD President stated, "Sam has been a good friend & longtime supporter of GLAAD & we wish him & Rubem the absolute best.” When we attended the 2012 GLAAD Media Awards it was interesting when Josh Elliott the news anchor for ABC's Good Morning America addressed the event & talked about being raised by his 2 dads. This is all great news. More gay celebrities should come out & serve as encouraging role models for our LGBT youth. Updates to Come…:)
