Saturday night award recipients for the 21st Annual GLAAD
Media Awards were announced in San Francisco, the final
event of the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards. Special Honors
were given to Cybill Shepherd & Lee Daniels. “We stand on the
shoulders of our elders & I want to thank everyone who’s worked
so hard to make this possible,” Shepherd said in her acceptance
speech. “I’m very humbled & I don’t know that I could be more
dedicated to this cause but I could never thank you enough,
GLAAD, for your education of me.”
Chely Wright, Rodney Crowell & Sam Sparro performed. Award
recipients included Lady Gaga, AARP & the documentary
"Ask Not." Celebrities included Nikki Blonsky, Bruce Vilanch,
Thea Gill & Michelle Clunie, Wilson Cruz, Linda Perry & Derrick
Martin who was famously thrown out of his home by his parents
