BREAKING: Prop 8 Overturned!! Major Victory!! Finally common
sense prevails. This is about Equality & Equality Wins!!
Updates to Come...:)
Sara Gilbert quietly came out of the closet during a press
conference at the Television Critics Association, Los Angeles.
This comes on the heals of CBS receiving the lowest network
LGBT ratings from GLAAD. (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against
Defamation) Gilbert serves as executive producer/co-host of
upcoming talk show “The Talk”. The new show will look at
current issues through the eyes of mothers which replaces
CBS' daytime soap "As the World Turns" this fall. The show
is also set to feature panelists Julie Chen, Holly Robinson
Peete, Sharon Osbourne & Leah Remini. Gilbert has two
children with her partner TV producer Allison Adle.
When asked if she was comfortable being "out" on “The Talk”
Gilbert stated, "This is a whole new world for me. I'm not an
expert on this, or I don't analyze these things. I don't think
[being out] will be a problem...I don't ever really think of
things as being out or in...I just think I am who I am & when
topics come up that are appropriate, I'll talk about them &
share when it seems right." Can't wait for this show...:)
Gilbert decided at age 6 that she wanted to be an actress after
her older sister, Melissa Gilbert, got a plaque on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame. Following appearances in television movies &
a commercial for Kool Aid, at the age of thirteen she landed the
role of Darlene Conner, the sarcastic middle child, in Roseanne.
Sara was a cast member during the show's nine-year run from
1988 to 1997, for which she also wrote a fourth-season episode
called "Don't Make Me Over".
