This is great news coming out of New Hampshire. The New Hampshire House has refused to overturn marriage equality by a vote of 211-116. The anti gay attempt by homophobic Rep. David Bates to turn back the clock on the 2010 gay marriage law in the granite state was soundly rejected. "New Hampshire lived up to the state motto of 'Live Free or Die' today, by ensuring the freedom to marry for all loving, committed couples," said Stuart Gaffney, Marriage Equality USA Media Director. "Happily married couples shouldn't be used as a political football in an election year. Wednesday's vote in New Hampshire says loud & clear, that the freedom to marry is here to stay," said John Lewis, Marriage Equality USA Legal Director. "Our leaders always face a decision regarding which side of history they want to stand on whenever civil rights are debated.
