Now this is the party to attend. Celebrities are headlining a fundraiser planned in New York on September 13th to benefit the campaign for marriage equality in Maryland. Confirmed to attend include Julianna Margulies & Josh Charles, co-stars of “The Good Wife” on CBS, “Sex in The City” Sarah Jessica Parker, Julianne Moore who played Sarah Palin in the HBO movie “Game Change”, Edward Norton, Susan Sarandon, along with Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley (D). Also attending are Sean Avery, Sandra Bernhard, the younger Barbara Bush, Paul Boskind, Andy Cohen, Tom Colicchio, Brian Ellner, Ryan Greenawalt, Cornelia Guest, Keith Lieberthal, Charles Myers, Shauna Robertson, Larry Poston, David Rabin, Hilary Rhoda, Johnny Swet, & Russell Simmons. The Sept. 13 event tickets range from $250 to $25,000 & is booked atop The James Hotel which promises a sexy social atmosphere, with an enclosed bar & lounge set against 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline. The fundraiser for Marylanders for Marriage Equality comes as the issue appears on their November ballot. Gay marriage was passed by the Maryland legislature in March but the homophobes easily petitioned to the get it on the upcoming ballot. Several of the celebrities have Maryland connections, including Ken Mehlman, the former chairman of the National Republican Committee who came out as gay in 2010 & filmmaker John Waters a Baltimore native.
