Boston OLOC (Old Lesbians Organizing For Change) will be meeting on Sunday November 6th from 2P to 4P to screen Catherine Russo’s brilliant documentary
“A Moment In Her Story: Stories From The Boston Women's Movement”. The film will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker. The documentary chronicles the Second Wave of Feminism starting in 1968 that rippled across the U.S., demanding expanded possibilities for women of all races & classes. In the Boston area, students, professionals, community activists & working class mothers came together to demand change. This feature length documentary provides testimony of the movement's transforming energy, creativity & determination. Sarah Pearlman Co-Founder of OLOC-Boston stated, “A Moment in Her Story" by filmmaker, Catherine Russo is the inspiring story of how a new radical feminist movement began, one that challenged the cultural & political norms of our society. Throughout the late 60s & early 70s, this movement challenged the cultural & political norms of our society with Boston one of the centers of the Second Wave women's revolution that emerged nationally & internationally. Through interviews, archival film, photos, graphics, posters & music, Russo brings a rare lens to the conflicts experienced by women coming from different race & class backgrounds who worked together to push for greater justice & equality for women.” The event takes place at Brookline Senior Center, 93 Winchester Street in Brookline, MA. Following the event there will be an early dinner at Sichuan Garden, 295 Washington Street in Brookline Village, Brookline.
