Tallahassee LGBTQ Gala Event

By Charlotte Robinson, March 16, 2018
The Equality Florida Tallahassee Annual Gala takes place on March 24th from 7P to 10P at the beautiful Turnbull Center on the campus of Florida State University. Each year this fabulous event brings together the area’s political, business & civic leaders to celebrate & support Equality Florida’s LGBTQ work. This year they will be presenting the Voice for Equality Award to Rev Brant Copeland & Ron Bunting & The Lifetime Achievement Award to the leaders of The Mickee Faust Club: Terry Galloway & Donna Marie Nudd. The Voice for Equality Award recognizes an individual that has helped move the LGBTQ community closer to full equality, while the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a lifetime of support & activism for the LGBTQ community. Joe Baker, Jr. - Tallahassee Steering Committee Member stated, " Rev Brant Copeland is man of integrity & compassion, who wonderfully serves our community in so many ways as an individual and as a church pastor. Brant truly walks the talk of his Christian faith & we all benefit from his willingness to share why the unconditional acceptance of all people is now more important than ever." Music will be provided by Tallahassee Nights Live, also a silent auction, delicious hors d'oeuvres & full open bars. This year's program will feature a state of the state address by Equality Florida co-founder and Deputy Director, Stratton Pollitzer. Equality Florida Institute is the largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida's LGBTQ community.
