Join Emmy nominated director Jeff Kaufman & Emmy nominated producer Marcia S. Ross along with actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson & playwright Matthew Lopez for this fabulous event moderated by Steve Greene of IndieWire which will include an opportunity for the audience to ask questions at the end of the program. McNally who died in March from complications of COVID-19 was among the first on Broadway to explore LGBTQ themes including AIDS & LGBTQ civil rights. His best-known works include the plays “Kiss of the Spider Woman” & “Ragtime." McNally grew up in conservative Corpus Christi, Texas & as a gay young man traveled to NYC where he went to college & later began his theater career. Jeff Kaufman “Terrence McNally: Every Act of Life” creator stated, “Terrence was out when Edward Albee, with whom he had a long relationship, was still in the closet. Tennessee Williams was still in the closet. Thornton Wilder & William Inge were all still living under the fear of being ‘out.’ But Terrence was there & himself & set an example & I think that’s an example that still resonates.”
