Minnesota LGBTQ Org Gets 200K Grant

The Queer Equity Institute [QEI] in Minnesota announced that they have secured a $200,000 Vibrant & Equitable Communities grant from the McKnight Foundation. The funding through this grant will be directed towards QEI's groundbreaking fellowship program, specifically designed to uplift & empower Minnesota LGBTQ workers, artists & individuals over the next two years. Leigh Finke, Executive Director & State Representative stated, “We are beyond pleased to receive this funding. To support Queer individuals actively working to make the Twin Cities a better place is the crux of this work. Being able to get started & support these incredible individuals during our first two years of operation is beyond incredible.” Through the Fellowship program which is QEI’s cornerstone initiative to provide essential resources, mentorship & a platform for LGBTQ individuals to pursue their creative & advocacy endeavors. By championing the diverse voices within the community QEI seeks to create a more vibrant, equitable & inclusive society. The Fellowship program will be instrumental in creating a platform for LGBTQ individuals to engage in community-driven projects, advocacy & initiatives that directly impact their communities. Queer Equity Institute is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to advancing the rights & well-being of the LGBTQ community.
