Gay Marriage Hearing in Rhode Island

A hearing on a bill that would legalize gay marriage in Rhode
Island is set for this week at the state house. The House Judiciary
Committee is scheduled to hear testimony on the bill Wednesday.
A previous hearing on the bill was delayed due to the brutal weather
we're having in the northeast this winter. The legislation has been
introduced several times over the years but failed when it faced
opposition from previous Republican Governor Don Carcieri &
former legislative leaders. House Speaker Gordon Fox, who is
openly gay, has said gay marriage legislation is a priority for him
this year & the new Governor Lincoln Chafee is a strong supporter
