New Casper Andreas Film a Boston Hit

By Charlotte Robinson, May 08, 2011
The Boston LGBT Film Fest presented the Northeast Debut
of Casper Andreas' new romantic comedy "Going Down in
La-La Land" at the Museum of Fine Arts. Adapted from the
hysterical novel by Andy Zeffer & inspired by Zeffer’s real
life experiences, the film is about a young, hot & ambitious,
gay guy who arrives from New York with dreams of making it
big in L.A. Adam gets off to a rocky start but a new job in
production looks promising. However after dealing with seedy
directors, washed up starlets & meth addicts, he starts to lose
himself in a seamy underworld of gay porn & prostitution.
Andreas & Zeffer were in attendance for a Q & A session
following the film. We really enjoyed this film...:)

  1. Being a gay filmmaker and telling gay stories is what I have been focusing on. “Going Down in La La Land” is my sixth feature film made with all gay characters and made for a gay audience in mind. All my films have a deeper message. In my film “A Four Letter Word” (2007) which also played at the Boston LGBT Film Festival a few years ago, on the surface is an out-there sexy comedy but it also deals with LGBTQ teen suicide and talks about all the issues that our LGBT community is struggling with. This is true for a lot of my films and this is very important for me to do that.
