Happy LGBT Pride Boston!!

By Charlotte Robinson, June 08, 2013

At noon Saturday June 8th the 43rd annual Boston Gay Pride Parade begins rain or shine. Openly gay weatherman David Brown states, “While the sun may not be shining at least the HEAVY rain is lifting to our northeast. Tracking post tropical storm Andrea as she races towards Nova Scotia. We will hold on to the cloudy to mostly cloudy & damp weather this morning & lots of clouds this afternoon. Temperatures now in the 60s will shift slightly to the 70s. While the sun won’t be shining brightly the rain will be over by the time the parade kicks off at noon. Happy Pride!! I hope all of you have a wonderful & a safe day today. Tomorrow looks outstanding with mainly sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s!! Enjoy” Boston Gay Pride Parade starts at Boylston & Clarendon streets down into the South End. Due to the rain overnight the pride committee is asking that no confetti or streamers be used during the parade, to avoid clogging the street drains & to help us keep Boston streets litter-free. The parade winds northeast, then north on Berkeley Street into the Back Bay where it turns east onto Boylston Street & passes by the Boston Public Garden. It then turns left onto Charles Street, heading north alongside the scenic Boston Common, before turning east on Beacon Street & passing before the Massachusetts State House, then winding around Tremont Street & Cambridge Street to end at Boston City Hall. This is one of the more popular & scenic gay pride marches in the country, drawing enormous crowds & passing before some of the city's most prominent sites. Also kicking off at noon on Saturday & lasting until 6P the Boston Gay Pride Festival takes place at City Hall Plaza, right where the parade ends. At the festival you can watch a number of top entertainers. This year's stage is headlined by Karmin & featuring plenty of other talented acts visit with more than 130 business vendors & community groups & mingle with hundreds of fellow participants. The parade is also followed by several parties around town throughout the night & more block parties tomorrow. Updates to Come…:)
