Mark Gilbert To Be Honored

SAVE is is celebrating 25 years as Florida's largest local LGBTQ advocacy organization & their  25th Annual Champions of Equality Gala takes place on Friday June 8th at The Penthouse at Riverside Wharf at 125 Southwest North River Drive in Miami, Florida. This year Mark Gilbert Board Chair of the OUTshine Film Festival will receive the Equality Icon Award at this fabulous gala event. Mark has helped grow & steer the newly branded OUTshine Film Festival that was originally known as the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival & then in 2008 it combined with Fort Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in 2008 becoming MiFo LGBT Film Festival. Gilbert fell in love with the organization & the LGBTQ films he saw & has served on the Board of Directors, Co-Chair & then Chair for the last 18 years. Tony Lima, SAVE Executive Director stated, “We are so excited to honor local hero, Mark Gilbert as our 2018 Equality Icon Award Recipient at the Champions of Equality Gala. As the Board Chair of the OUTshine Film Festival, Mark has helped grow & steer this important event for nearly 18 years.
