Provincetown Film Society Virtual Event

By Charlotte Robinson, October 01, 2020

The Provincetown Film Society (PFS) has announced an online event The Collaborative Art of Filmmaking Virtual Festival featuring conversations with film creatives discussing their craft in the many departments that comprise the world of film. The pre-recorded conversations will stream 24 hours Thursday to Sunday October 8th to the 11th. The event is moderated by Christine Walker, Independent Spirit Award Nominated Producer & Director of Diversity Initiatives with conversations of many of her collaborators as they revisit a handful of films that have screened at the Provincetown Film Festival & Waters Edge Cinema over the years. The online festival will offer a unique first-hand behind-the-scenes perspective of the collaborative process. Topics will cover the areas of directing, producing, acting, cinematography, production design & post production & editing. Anthony Lawson Provincetown Film Society Board President stated, “During her tenure as the Executive Director & CEO of PFS, Christine Walker worked tirelessly to promote gender equity & diversity in film, both in front of & behind the camera. As a female producer of color, she has also distinguished herself among a small minority who have managed to produce films over more than two decades. In honor of Christine’s work, PFS is thrilled to offer this special residency program & continue to nurture underrepresented voices while supporting a more equitable future for the film industry. We could not be more pleased to offer this program & look forward to continuing her work in the years to come.” The event will feature conversations with Academy award winning filmmakers Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman among others.  Festival passes are $75.00 & individual tickets are $10.00.  For More Info & Tix: provincetownfilm.org
