Tyler Clementi Foundation Digital Event

By Charlotte Robinson, October 02, 2020

The Tyler Clementi Foundation has announced that their Upstander Celebration honoring the 10th Anniversary of the Tyler Clementi Foundation will take place virtually on October 15th. Tyler Clementi was the young gay man who jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge in 2010 after being outed & bullied at Rutgers University. In 2011 his family created the Tyler Clementi Foundation to address bullying challenges facing vulnerable populations especially our LGBTQ community & other victims of hostile social environments. The evening celebration will include reflections & conversations with the Tyler Clementi Foundation staff & Tyler’s family as well as cast members of Queer As Folk including Michelle Clunie, Scott Lowell, Robert Gant, Peter Paige, Randy Harrison & Sharon Gless plus special guest appearances. Thomas Roberts host of DailyMailTV will moderate the evening. Michelle Clunie stated, “Join me & my fellow castmates from Queer as Folk for The Tyler Clementi Foundation's Upstander Celebration 10th Anniversary Virtual Gala. We still have so much work to do in this area & that work never stops, no matter the state of the world. We need to push forward & keep making progress, always.” The virtual event on October 15th will begin with a VIP reception starting at 7P EST & general admission will begin at 7:30P EST to celebrate the Tyler Clementi Foundation’s amazing accomplishments as well as sharing their future plans to continue their mission to end all online & offline bullying, in schools, workplaces & faith communities. A online Silent Auction is also now live. For More Info & Tix…
