Student Short Films Showcase

The Provincetown International Film Festival will screen the best in new & emerging short student films in the Boston Metro area on October 17th at 7P at The Coolidge Theatre in Brookline, MA & October 18th at 1P at Bright Family Screening Room at the Paramount Center in Boston. Nearly 50 short films will be screened as part of the 15th Provincetown International Film Festival where student film submissions accounted for nearly 20% of the entries received. From post-graduate workshop projects & undergrad thesis films to international animation & the ambitious world premiere from a high school-aged visionary this program of new student work aims for illumination & succeeds at captivation. Provincetown Film Society, Board President, Richard McCarthy stated, “We wanted to focus on & support the Festival student shorts films. This project was an excellent way for us to bring the work of talented young filmmakers to larger audiences in the Boston area.” David Isaacson, Project Director added, "Showing & nurturing student films to large audiences in urban areas is important to the growth/health of the independent film industry. These will be our future story tellers & giving them a boost & the exposure now is good for film & the film goer." The program at the Coolidge is $5 admission with a student college ID; general admission is $10. All screenings in the Bright Family Screening Room are free.
