Boston Pride Celebrating 50 Years

By Charlotte Robinson, January 02, 2020
In June the Boston Pride Committee will mark 50 years of Boston Pride. The first Boston Pride March took place in 1970 one year after the Stonewall Riots. Since then Boston Pride has played an integral role in the political & cultural successes of the LGBTQ movement both locally & nationally. If you are you a writer, photographer or artist & would you like to have your work seen by queer people & allies throughout Greater Boston, Massachusetts & beyond Boston Pride is currently seeking community members from all backgrounds who are willing to donate their talents & are looking for a highly visible & far reaching publication to showcase articles, stories & art. If selected your work will be displayed in the Boston Pride Guide the official annual publication of the Boston Pride Committee. The Guide has extensive circulation & a diverse readership. It is distributed in 30,000 print copies to over 500 locations in New England. Since 2016 the digital version of Guide has received over 66,000 reads, 580,000 impressions & read in 135 countries on all continents. Print copies are made available at all Boston Pride events. This is a fabulous opportunity for writers, photographers & artists from all backgrounds who are willing to donate their talents & are looking for a highly visible & far reaching publication to showcase articles, stories & art. If you’re interested in pitching a story idea or contributing art for the 2020 Boston Pride Guide send an abstract or proposal by Tuesday, January 30th 2020 by 5P to: prideguide@bostonpride.org
