National Freedom to Marry Day...:)

This is a mixed celebration if you're a gay American living outside of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Iowa & New Hampshire where gay marriage is the law. It's a hard time for our LGBT community living in California & Maine where the majority was allowed to vote away the rights of a minority....Then there are the states that have amended their constitutions against our Freedom to Marry. Let's hope that the legality of Prop 8 will be overturned. More Info:EQCA Whatever the OUTcome, we'll keep working towards equality for all the people, not just some of the people....:)

Gay Marriage & Rhode Island

Exclusive audio interview with Black Gay Activists Andrea Shorter and Edwin Seth Brown in celebration of Black History Month @OUTTAKE VOICES™
There’s a good chance that Rhode Island’s next governor could sign gay marriage into law. Three of the candidates are promising they’ll sign a bill if it reaches their desk. Advocacy group Marriage Equality Rhode Island has invited Democrats Patrick Lynch & Frank Caprio & IndependentLincoln Chafee to make their promise public at an upcoming rally. Republican John Robitaille hasn’t responded to the group but says he might support domestic partnerships. Big Surprise….:) That would make 5 New England states out of 6 where gay marriage is the law after that horrible
upset in Maine last November. Updates to Come...:)

Women Ruled 2010 Grammys...:)

Our only LGBT presence in the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards was Lady Gaga & Elton John’s show opener. However women dominated the show with Taylor Swift & Beyonce taking home a combined 10 awards, becoming this year’s big winners. The  media highlight was a tribute to Michael Jackson. Carrie  Underwood, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson & Celine Dion performed “Earth Song” followed by a moving speech by Jackson’s children accepting his award for him. However the real show stopper  was Pink performing a Cirque du Soleil type presentation of her song "Glitter in the Air" from her Funhouse album. She made her way down the aisle to center stage in a white robe which she dropped to the floor in an outfit that was revealing to say the least…:)
