In National Leadership on Marriage Equality, Coakley filed an unprecedented legal challenge to the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). On fighting for LGBT seniors, Coakley worked to pass legislation expanding health care protections for LGBT seniors in Massachusetts (MassHealth Equality). Her track record on Transgender Rights is OUTstanding. Coakley was an early supporter & the first statewide office holder to support the Transgender Rights bill pending in the Massachusetts legislature.
