Americans Holding Out For Healthcare
By Charlotte Robinson, October 01, 2025
American community leaders are urging Representatives in the House & Senate to hold the line on healthcare amidst the failed attempt to force Democrats to vote for a budget to finance fascism on behalf of corporations & billionaires. Sulma Arias, People’s Action Executive Director stated,
“Our leaders must put people first & refuse to comply with the oligarchs waging war against us. Democrats are right to refuse to be complicit in stealing our money, bankrolling billionaires & financing fascism. Now Republicans are showing they are willing to hurt working people even more rather than sit down & negotiate on health care funding with Democrats. Working people need Social Security checks, Medicare & veterans’ benefits. Government workers need paychecks to run our national parks, administer veterans benefits & keep our food & our planes safe. They’re not going to get them because MAGA’s agenda is so greedy & violent that the GOP can’t get it passed even when Republicans control the House, Senate & White House. Republicans must come to the table with Democrats to negotiate health care & other crucial priorities. They must back off MAGA’s demands for more money for abductions & more theft of our funds for food, housing & care. Congress should fight to make this country affordable to working families, not just corporations & the ultra-rich.” People’s Action org is a proud national network of 38 member-based, power-building organizations in 29 states with more than a million members & tens of thousands of national volunteers. They are from every background, speak many languages & live in small towns, cities & rural areas.
