Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library (SNMAL) has announced its annual informative fundraising event for educational programming will be rebranded as ‘Focus on the Future’ Celebration set for October 22nd at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ Mary Porter Ballroom in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Robert Kesten, SNMAL President & CEO stated, “It’s clear that many LGBTQ+ individuals are feeling under siege right now as a result of the nation’s current crises, that feeling is incredibly difficult to shake. Our goal with ‘Focus on the Future’ is to remind people of the importance of knowledge no matter your age or where you live. Knowledge is power & prepares us to take on the challenges we face. We want people to walk away with a sense of connection & unity, which are key to progress. We must hold each other & our officials accountable; we will not speak with one voice, but we must all be on the same page if we are to fully share in the promise that was America.” Over the years this fabulous event has welcomed LGBTQ allies & icons Billy Porter, Jacqueline Bisset (Bullitt, Murder on the Orient Express), screen-stealer Wes Ramsey (CSI: Miami, Pretty Little Liars, General Hospital), Film writer/director C. Jay Cox (Sweet Home Alabama, Kiss the Bride), producer Kirkland Tibbels (Cloud 9, Adam & Steve) & acclaimed journalist MS NOW’s Eugene Daniels.
