From her band "Rough Trade" to Pope's most recent solo album "Transcend" she has swaggered & crooned her way into the hearts of audiences around the globe. Carole Pope recently appeared in Rob Stefaniuk's rock & roll vampire movie "Suck", premiering at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. Part of the proceeds of the concert will go to "Buddies" the non-profit org that has become one of North America's premiere synthesis between so-called gay culture & modern theatre. She'll be joined by her band consisting of Tim Welch guitar, Chris Lamont drums, Mike Borksky bass & Pope on vocals. Lily Frost, the opening act, will join Carole to premiere a new song "God=Love" about LGBT rights & the religious right. If you’re in the Toronto area this is a must-be-seen-at-event...:)

Gay Idol Adam Lambert Shocks America

New audio interview with author Marc Harshbarger about his two must-read gay novels “Deep Dish” & “Deeper Dish” which tell a continuing saga about love & lust in Chicago back in 1975 & more @OUTTAKE VOICES™
Openly gay American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert shocked the audience at the American Music Awards by grinding his crotch into the face of a kneeling male dancer that he'd been holding by a leash. Network censors had a feast bleeping the lyrics that accompanied the crotch/face scene as cameras cut away to a shot of the darkened auditorium. As the song ended, Lambert grabbed the male keyboardist for some forced tongue-swapping & again the camera cuts away. Question: If Madonna did this with a male dancer would anyone had made a fuss? Trans Day of Remembrance 2009

Let's put aside our political agendas & take a moment to memorialize those who were killed merely because of the hatred & prejudice against our Transgender Community...... Today we honor Jorge Steven López Mercado who was murdered last Saturday in Puerto Rico. Mercado, a Puerto Rican native, was found partially burned, decapitated & with his arms & legs dismembered, on the side of the road near his home town Caguas, Puerto Rico on November 14th. Read More... "We must stop the homophobic slaughter," stated Malcolm Lazin, Executive Director of Equality Forum. "Since Matthew Shepard's murder in 1998, there have been over 16,000 gay hate crimes & on average, about 1,450 LGBT hate crimes per year."

Wednesday the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee passed the Domestic Partners Benefits & Obligations Act (H.R. 2517), authored by Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI). Under the legislation, same-gender domestic partners of federal employees living together in a committed relationship would be eligible for health benefits, long-term care, Family & Medical Leave & federal retirement benefits, among others. The domestic partners of federal employees would also be subject to the same responsibilities that apply to the spouses of federal employees, such as anti-nepotism rules & financial disclosure requirements. “Today’s actions mark another significant step in our march toward LGBT equality,” said Congresswoman Baldwin, Co-Chair of the House LGBT Equality Caucus. “Our movement is gaining momentum around the country & Congress is following the will of the people. Today is a day to celebrate yet another milestone & recognize anew that ‘the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.'”

Dolly Parton Comes OUT For Gay Marriage

Today marks the 6th anniversary of Goodridge et al. v. Dept. Public Health. In a historic opinion on November 18, 2003, the Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), won a ruling from the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that gay & lesbian couples could no longer be excluded from civil marriage rights in Massachusetts….:)
Why we love Dolly Parton…:) When asked why she had such a strong gay following, Parton replied: "I think its because they know I'm different too & it took me a long time be accepted.  And I think that they just kind of relate to that. But I think they  appreciate the fact that I just love everybody for who they are  & we're not supposed to try to change people, we should allow people to be who they are & love them as they are." When asked if she supports gay marriage coming from such a religious background Dolly replied: “I always say, ‘Sure, why can’t they get married? They should suffer like the rest of us do."
