Dolly Parton Comes OUT For Gay Marriage

By Charlotte Robinson, November 18, 2009
Today marks the 6th anniversary of Goodridge et al. v. Dept. Public Health. In a historic opinion on November 18, 2003, the Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), won a ruling from the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that gay & lesbian couples could no longer be excluded from civil marriage rights in Massachusetts….:)
Why we love Dolly Parton…:) When asked why she had such a strong gay following, Parton replied: "I think its because they know I'm different too & it took me a long time be accepted.  And I think that they just kind of relate to that. But I think they  appreciate the fact that I just love everybody for who they are  & we're not supposed to try to change people, we should allow people to be who they are & love them as they are." When asked if she supports gay marriage coming from such a religious background Dolly replied: “I always say, ‘Sure, why can’t they get married? They should suffer like the rest of us do." Video New exclusive audio interview with Tracy Baim, Executive Producer of the new film “Hannah Free", starring Sharon Gless (Burn Notice, Queer as Folk, Cagney & Lacey), that's receiving rave reviews
