In San Francisco there’s an important event “How to Take Back the Supreme Court” on Tuesday October 1st at Manny's 3092 16th Street from 6:30P to 7:30P. Kate Kendell formerly from the National Center for Lesbian Rights & Aaron Belkin from the Palm Center have formed a new organization Take Back the Court & will lead the discussion. Kate Kendell stated, “Democracy & the entire progressive agenda will die unless we take back the US Supreme Court. Come hear the plan to do just that & how you can help save our future.” With Trump adding Justice Gorsuch & Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court we’re dealing with a frightening situation especially with our LGBTQ workers rights on the line next month when the U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments October 8th in Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia & Altitude Express v. Zarda on whether the federal ban on employment discrimination “because of sex” applies to discrimination based on sexual orientation. It’s time once again for our LGBTQ community to get focused & organized especially as we head into the 2020 election. Take Back The Court is leading the way addressing the crisis that the Supreme Court has broken democracy by dismantling the Voting Rights Act, allowing dark money to flood our politics & approving partisan gerrymandering. The mission of Take Back the Court is to prevent the Court from striking down new laws designed to restore democracy. San Francisco comic & Union activist Nato Green will moderated the event & tickets are $6.
