With the anti-gay homophobic hatemongers trying to nix gay marriage in New Hampshire with second class civil unions & North Carolina putting an amendment on their May ballot to once again define marriage, Archie Comics is planning a January gay marriage. Last year Kevin Keller an openly gay character came to Riverdale. “Kevin followed in his father's footsteps & is returning to Riverdale as a war hero, but that's not all – It’s Kevin’s wedding day!” reads a news release from Archie Comic Publications, about the upcoming issue of "Life With Archie." Of course this has stirred the homophobes at the Family Research Council, Peter Spriggs states, “It's unfortunate that a comic book series usually seen as depicting innocent, all-American life is now being used to advance the sexual revolution.” Of course key phase is ‘all-American life.’ We commend Archie Comics for including the diversity of our country in their publication.

I think it’s great that the reality of America’s loving gay couples are being portrayed in as many places as possible. We all want to be part of family and community -- that’s what marriage is about. Gay people share the same dreams. According to Jon Goldwater of Archie Comics ‘Archie's hometown of Riverdale has always been a safe world for everyone. It just makes sense to have an openly gay character in Archie comic books.’
