Boston Shutdown By Snow

By Charlotte Robinson, February 09, 2013
UPDATE: Now the dig OUT begins...:)
We’re still dealing with a State of Emergency in Massachusetts. It’s like a ghost land outside as over 2 feet of snow has blanketed the state. We have supplies & electricity unlike over 400,000 residents who are without power. The snow is scheduled to stop by afternoon & then the digging out will begin. Fortunately we listened to emergency warnings & stocked up with food & other necessities. The coast is bracing for high tide at noon which will mostly cause flooding & some towns are evacuating. 6,000 National Guard troops standing by & helping with the evacuation. Boston's Logan Airport is closed until after 3P when they’re hoping to clear at least one runway. We haven’t seen snow like this for years. After the snow stops we hope to provide more pictures. This what we have so far. You can see the height of the snow covering the cars on a Boston street. The only vehicles that are permitted on the streets at this time are plows & emergency vehicles. The MBTA remains closed. Of course though it’s a bit dangerous out there but it’s also absolutely beautiful. We’ll continuing posting throughout the Blizzard of 2013 to share with our global audience pictures & updates.
