Ann Hampton Callaway is kicking off The Berklee Bean Town Jazz Festival Friday September 25th at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston, Massachusetts. Callaway is one of the leading champions of the great American Songbook, having made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host & producer. On Broadway she took center stage in the Tony-nominated hit Broadway musical “Swing!” & we love her fabulously infectious theme song to the hit TV series “The Nanny”. Ann told us, "Tonight, Scullers will be alive with the hot jazz & standards as I sing Ellington, Kern, Coleman & spotlight three greats with centennials this year- Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra & Billy Strayhorn. As this is part of The Berklee Bean Town Jazz Festival, I am proud to have on the bandstand three of Boston's best- Tim Ray on piano, Dave Zinno on bass & Yoron Israel on drums. And can't wait to see what Bean Town love songs I'll make up with the crowd tonight- at the 8 & 10 shows!” Callaway is also a Platinum Award winning writer whose songs are featured on seven of Barbra Streisand's recent CD's. She has also written songs with Carole King, Rolf Lovland & Barbara Carroll to name a few. Tickets are $40 for the show & $80 for dinner & the show. See You Tonight!
