UN Free & Equal To Be Honored

Free & Equal the United Nations campaign for LGBT equality will be honored by the United Nations Foundation & the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) at their 2015 Global Leadership Dinner on Tuesday November 3rd in New York. This important event recognizes the achievement of leaders from multiple sectors who have helped tackle the world’s most pressing challenges. The gathering represents a moment to honor & thank those from all walks of life who help the United Nations do its vital work in achieving short-term humanitarian goals & long-term development goals. Attendees, Honorees & Speakers include: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, Charlie Rose, Television talk show host & journalist, Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Chobani LLC, Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran, Jason Collins, retired basketball player & NBA’s first openly gay player, Ali Velshi, host of “Ali Velshi on Target” on Al Jazeera America & RJ King, International Super Model. The United Nations Foundation links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy & expertise of business & non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, global health, peace and security, women's empowerment, poverty eradication, energy access, and U.S.-UN relations.
