Gay Icon Tabatha Coffey Returns

By Charlotte Robinson, March 08, 2013
Tabatha Coffey returns to BRAVO in Season 5 of her hit TV show “Tabatha Takes Over” premiering Thursday, April 4th at 10P ET/PT. As you know this fierce, openly gay charismatic, successful Aussie stylist travels across the country taking over failing businesses & whips them into shape from the inside OUT. For one week Tabatha takes over as boss, confiscates the keys & brings her unapologetic & brutally honest expertise to establishments & their owners in dire need of her help. Tabatha not only lays down her laws for salons but will take over a gay night club, sports bar, Mexican restaurant, barber shop & nail salon. In a special episode Tabatha will also return to some of her most memorable takeovers from previous seasons for a surprise visit. Tabatha kicks off Season 5 when she visits the up & coming area of East Nashville, Tennessee where celebrity stylist Tanzy Clark Wright’s salon Mogulz is a mess. Although Tanzy has been a pillar of her African-American community for years she has struggled to evolve her business to attract the diverse clientele that now inhabit the booming area. Not only has the salon fallen out of touch with the community, the pregnant shopaholic Tanzy has lost her drive, her money & control of her staff. To save Tanzy’s salon, Tabatha must get her to step up, be responsible & lead her & her staff to embrace the diversity wave of the future. I met Tabatha in Provincetown at the Boatslip a few seasons back when she was revamping The West End Salon & found her to be absolutely fabulous. She continues to do great work for our LGBT community so definitely check OUT her new season.

It's about time someone began to write about and mention the number of businesses that have closed down or lost substantial amounts of business after Tabatha's "taken overs." The confidentiality agreements have elapsed, a little reporting is in order.
