Labor & civil rights icon Dolores Huerta will also deliver a keynote address at approximately 1:30P & California State Controller Betty Yee will speak at a 5P post-convening reception. Assembly members David Chiu (D-San Francisco) & Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) will speak on a 2P panel about policy & budget priorities for the 2020 legislative session. Some of the topics discussed will include: mental health, transgender civil rights, immigration, safe & supportive schools & HIV & AIDS. Equality California Institute’s Fair Share for Equality brings together LGBTQ progressive, business & community leaders, elected officials & issue experts to discuss the disparities in health & well-being that LGBTQ people continue to face & to ensure that a “fair share” of resources is dedicated to California’s LGBTQ community. Equality California is the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ civil rights organization. They bring the voices of LGBTQ people & allies to institutions of power in California & across the United States, striving to create a world that is healthy, just & fully equal for all LGBTQ people. They advance civil rights & social justice by inspiring, advocating & mobilizing through an inclusive movement that works tirelessly on behalf of those they serve.
