Jane Lynch Does Dallas for LGBT Event

By Charlotte Robinson, October 27, 2011
Dallas has a huge LGBT population & is becoming a very hot gay destination as seen on the new show “A List Dallas” on Logo TV & on Bravo in the reality show “Most Eligible Dallas” that featured a cute gay guy, Drew. So it’s no surprise that actress Jane Lynch will be speaking & signing copies of her new must-read book, “Happy Accidents” Sunday afternoon Oct. 30th 12:30-3:30P at the Sheraton Hotel, Dallas. The event is a benefit for Black Tie Dinner, Inc. This a very interesting LGBT org founded in 1982. In 2010, Black Tie Dinner raised $1.15 million to 19 local LGBT Texas beneficiaries & the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. In its 29 year history, Black Tie Dinner has distributed over $15 million to LGBT orgs. The dress is casual attire (track suit optional). The event will be hosted with sips & bites. Space is limited so be sure to RSVP by visiting:

Jane Lynch certainly has displayed a deft skill in her performances that widens our view of a character gay or straight. I appreciate that. LGBT performances are moving towards more complexity of form and content that may or may not include 'coming out' stories or specifying a LGBT existence. LGBT performances also exist in sensibilities of a character whether the character identifies as LGBT or not. Many of us often read the LGBT sensibility in the performance. Sometimes we just know the person is LGB or T (as an 'out' performer) and we enjoy their interpretation of a character.
