Pope Benedict XVI is preaching anti-gay hate again to his followers. His homophobic rant is geared towards the United States beginning with urging visiting U.S. bishops to beef up their teaching about the evils of premarital sex & cohabitation to denouncing what he called the “powerful’’ gay marriage lobby in America. As a gay activist who operates a LGBT news service I find this very disturbing that his outdated teachings continues to attack our LGBT people. All our community is trying to do by passing marriage equality in this country is to provide the same 1,138 rights & protections for our families that heterosexual families enjoy. We are loving people who believe in loving & respecting our neighbors. How can anyone not see that this homophobic Pope is promoting hate. His bishops are at the forefront of the campaign against marriage equality & are involved with at least 5 U.S. states scheduling ballot measures on the gay marriage in coming months. Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the head of the U.S. conference of bishops & archbishop of New York I guess must be in hot water with the Pope since they unsuccessfully lobbied against the legalization of gay marriage in their state. It just seems so totally wrong that the Vatican continues to take such a hateful stand against our loving peaceful LGBT people while they still refuses to clean their house of pedophile priests who continue to abuse & hurt innocent children.
