We had an amazing time covering the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards that kicked off in NYC Saturday night. First we chatted with all the celebrities that graced the Red Carpet. We'll have an exclusive audio montage on OUTTAKE VOICES™ later in the week. Then the festivities got underway with hosts Glee stars Naya Rivera & Cory Monteith. There was a fantastic auction that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for this important org. One of the highlights was Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera & John Stamos all auctioning off kisses onstage for GLAAD. Megan Hilty (Smash) stood in for the person who bid on Cory's kiss & puckered up onstage. Other great moments were Tracey Gold & Carson Kressley spoke out about GLAAD work & shared their industry experience when it comes to our LGBT community. Tracy said "there is nothing unnatural about being gay." Figuring skating champion Johnny Weir & his new husband Victor Vironov spoke onstage about marriage equality in New York. Then there was the Special Recognition Award: openly gay 17-year-old anti-bullying advocate, Katy Butler presented by Movie Icon Harvey Weinstein. John Stamos & Bernadette Peters presented the Vito Russo Award to the fabulous producing team of Craig Zadan & Neil Meron. (Chicago, Hairspray, Smash).
