Boston LGBT Film Festival Rocks

By Charlotte Robinson, May 06, 2011
The U.S. Premiere of Tom Tykwer, 3 (Drei) opened the
Boston LGBT Film Festival to a sold-out audience. From
the renowned director of Run Lola Run, Perfume & The
International, 3 (Drei) is raw & engaging look at a love
triangle. Drei marks Tykwer’s return to German cinema
& his home territory of Berlin & it is clear that it has done
him a world of good. The film is about Hanna & Simon
who are a middle-aged couple living in Berlin. Their lives
are going in seemingly opposite directions with Hanna
disaffected & bored with her life & searching for excitement
(to the point where she daydreams of sex acts in a Jeff Koons
artwork!) Simon is searching for affection. When Hanna
meets Adam they begin a torrid affair. Simon feels lost &
alone. He befriends Adam while swimming at the local pool.
The attraction between them is immediate with Adam quickly
seducing Simon. The two are soon engaged in an affair of their
own. If you missed this film don’t miss anymore....:)
