By Charlotte Robinson, October 20, 2012
BOOM for Equality & Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) are pleased to announce the addition of Reggie Watts to the lineup of this year’s Freedom To Love Now! A Concert for Marriage Equality. The event will be held on Tuesday October 30th at New York City's Beacon Theatre. The newly announced artists will join previously confirmed performers Rufus Wainwright, The National, fun, They Might Be Giants, Beth Orton, Sam Amidon, Cibo Matto, Justin Vivian Bond, & Toshi Reagon for an incredible night of music & activism. Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), who also serves as Music Director & Curator recruited the talented & diverse cast to unite on this historic evening for a common purpose to demand equal marriage rights for all Americans. On November 6th, constituents from four states Washington, Minnesota, Maine & Maryland will determine the fate of thousands of gay couples when they go to the polls. Money raised from this concert will support Freedom to Marry’s ongoing grassroots efforts in these states which may benefit countless citizens. Proceeds from this event will benefit Freedom to Marry the campaign to win marriage nationwide. Evan Wolfson, Freedom to Marry’s Founder President stated, “The key to winning the freedom to marry is raising our voices, opening hearts & moving minds. Freedom to Marry is happy to be a part of this concert and support such a diverse, talented group of performers who are giving their brilliance & time to this important cause.” Tix run $45 to $150 For 10% discount Use Code: LOVENOW
