Last night was the “Imaginnaire” Awards Gala in Boston. Carol Patton the editor of IMAGINE Magazine presents this annual event to honor New England entertainment movers & shakers. This year this very magical event was held in the beautiful Dome Room of The Lenox Hotel. Producer Laura Bernieri (“Kettle of Fish”, “Passage to Paradise”, “Next Stop Wonderland”) was honored. Laura is a fierce gay ally who I’ve know over the years covering the Provincetown International Film Festival. She was introduced by legendary bluesman James Montgomery who was charming & played a few riffs on his harmonica to the delight of the crowd of industry folk. He reminisced about working with Laura on her documentary “Delta Rising” that tells the story of Clarksdale, Tennessee & its importance to the blues America's classical music that was hosted by Morgan Freeman. Currently Bernieri film “Mother of George” which she is executive producer has been accepted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival where it will have its world premiere along with 15 other American narrative feature films later this month. Congrats! Laura! Also honored at last night’s Imaginnaire Awards was Actor & Voice Over Artist Will Lyman who was introduced by Oscar winning screenwriter Ernest Thompson (“On Golden Pond”) who entertained the room with sharp wit. FYI Thompson also played Nathan in Bernieri’s film “Next Stop Wonderland.” Others honored were Writer/Director John Stimpson, Producer & New Hampshire Production Coalition President Timothy Egan & Rhode Island Actor, Writer, Director Duncan Putney.
Congrats to All The Imaginnaire Awards Winners!!
