American Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour will be honored for her gay marriage advocacy at the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Greater New York Gala on February 4th. Wintour will receive the org's Ally for Equality Award to be presented by Glee creator Ryan Murphy. Wintour was among the celebrities last year who recorded ads for HRC's New Yorkers for Marriage Equality campaign. “As far as I'm concerned having the right to say 'I do' is as fundamental as the right to vote,” Wintour stated in her 30-second video ad. Of course then there’s our favorite movie “The Devil Wears Prada” starring Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, a fashion editor widely believed to be based on Wintour. Currently Wintour has been rallying fashion heavyweights including Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu & Diane von Furstenberg to back President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign with a "Runway to Win" effort.
