AUDIO: Historic Olson & Boies Press Conference...
Our California LGBT community will be rallying throughout their state today as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issues their ruling in the landmark federal civil rights case Perry v. Brown by 10A PST. The Ninth Circuit will determine whether to uphold the historic August 2010 decision of the Federal District Court that found Proposition 8 unconstitutional. Prop 8 stripped gay & lesbian Californians of the fundamental freedom to marry. In San Francisco gay couples, friends, family & clergy will gather at the steps of the Ninth Circuit Federal Courthouse at 9:45A PST to receive the Ninth Circuit’s ruling on Prop 8. Those gathered will then walk to the steps of San Francisco City Hall where clergy will bless the unions of couples unable to marry because of Prop 8. “We are very hopeful that the Ninth Circuit will rule in favor of fairness & equality, once and for all putting an end to Prop. 8’s exclusion of loving, committed couples from marriage,” said John Lewis, Marriage Equality USA’s Legal Director. We’ll be taking part in a national media conference at 11:45A PST with lead co-counsel Theodore B. Olson, David Boies, AFER Board President Chad Griffin, & plaintiffs for OUTTAKE VOICES™ to get their spin on the decision. For More Info on Rallies….
Exclusive Chat with Dustin Lance Black, Oscar Winning screenwriter for MILK & the new critically-acclaimed film J. EDGAR, talks about his play “8” based on the Prop 8 Trial

We are a loving gay couple who have committed our lives to each other for the past nine years, and we will be at the courthouse in the morning to receive the decision. We are a family and we want to be married. We are on pins and needles waiting to see if the Ninth Circuit will enable us to fulfill the American dream of marrying the one you love.
